01/6/2010 - FOCCO will host Legion of China 2010 New Year Celebration Variety Show.
FOCCO will host another Ottawa New Year Celebration Variety Show at Ottawa Centrepointe Theatre. The show is a major event in the Chinese community for celebrating the Christmas and the New Year. It includs the best arts talents from the Ottawa Chinese community and visiting artists from China.
11/10/2009 - FOCCO is awarded funding from the Ontario Trillium Fund to carry "Female Immigrants Rights and Protection.
09/22/2008 - Reception at Ottawa City Hall to celebrate Moon Festival & RRC’s 60th Birthday.
FOCCO hosted a Buffet Reception at Ottawa City Hall to celebrate the Moon Festival & China’s National Day. Senator Mac Harb, MP Gordon O'Connor, Parliament Secretary Pierre Poilievre, MP Paul Dewar, Ottawa City Concillor Diana Homes attended the event.
Chinese Ambassador, Mr. Lan Lijun was invited as honorable guest for the event.
07/01/2009 - FOCCO members participated at the Canada Day Celebration at the Jacques-Cartier Park. Our dancers present four traditional dances to the audience, including Peacock Dance, Happiness and Peach Flowers. Audience was fascinated by the beauty of those dances and welcome them as a way of enriching the holiday spirit.
06/28/2009 - FOCCO artists were invited to attend 2009 Community Cup! on June 28th at Brewer Park. Paper crafts and Chinese painting were introduced to thousands of audience. Painting your English name in Chinese pictures is one of the most welcomed events of the day. The organizer, Catholic Immigration Centre, was very pleased and invite FOCCO to come back next year.
05/16/2009 - FOCCO organized 1st Chinese Canadian Youth Talent Competition successfully. About 80 youngsters participated the competition that covers the area of writing, painting and crafts making. The organized is very impressed with the quality of the pieces submitted and surprised by the response from the community. We will organize another one in 2010 and many young people have started to prepare for it!
01/26/2009 - At the New Year Day of the Lunar New Year (Year of Ox), FOCCO celebrated the date with senior citizens at Villa Marconi Nursing Home. We brought the best arts talents from the community and presented a variety show in singing, dancing and music. This goodwill effort is heartedly appreciated.
01/18/2009 - Thanks to the financial support from the Ontario government, FOCCO lauched three programs for women and chiddren. They are women dance/gymnastic class, chiddren dance class and craftmaking class. The feedback from the class goers so far has been very positive.
1/5/2009 - FOCCO is awarded funding from the Ontario government.
Thanks to the positive track record of FOCCO's contribution to the Ottawa Chinese community in the past and a convincing project proposal, FOCCO is awarded a fund to carry our activities both inside the Chinese community and between the Chinese community and other local communities. The scope of activity will be sports and arts activities aiming at women and children in the community.
